If you follow me on Twitter you may have seen me complain a number of times about… a lot of things, actually, among them the fact that the only skincare I brought with me to London was thermal water and my face is kind of a mess. Well, now I’ve got some stuff! Specifically, I’ve got the new Facacia anti-bacterial face wash and serum from QVCUK.com, and by “new” I mean “it went live today.”
My beauty knowledge is pretty limited, and I only got to test it a bit yesterday, but so far I’m really impressed with it. I talked about makeup earlier this week and how I avoid it because I always feel gross wearing it, and my face doesn’t feel quite clean even after taking it off, not until I shower, but I used the face wash after my shoot yesterday and my face, somehow, did feel clean.
I was kind of shocked, and pleased, and then I took a shower anyway because there was stuff in my hair from lying on the grass for that shoot and I’m an obsessive fucker. I’m sorry, world. I’m sorry, my hair. I switched L’Oréal shampoos last week from my usuals to their new Extraordinary Oils one and my hair has been a mess since, but I’m too broke to justify a new bottle, so it’s going to have to deal.
My point is, I’m really happy I have a product that allows me to put makeup on without having to worry about feeling gross all day, because that is a legitimate concern of mine. I’ve also been wanting something to moisturize my face before I put makeup on, which I think the serum has covered! The products also say they’re good for preventing blemishes, so I’m excited to see how they work for me in the long term.
Both products are available from QVC and QVCUK.com for £22 (serum) and £19 (cleanser), so if you’re in the market for skincare products, you should probably have a look at them.
There, short and sweet. Now, somebody tell me what to do about my hair. Do I give up and get another shampoo bottle, or will my hair adapt to this one? I always use shampoo for dry hair even though my hair is a bit unpredictable and used to be greasy, but this stuff for super dry and damaged gives my hair the same feel as curl-shaping mousse, which I haven’t used since I was seventeen because I never liked the feel of it… or curly hair, for that matter. Help me.
The Facacia face wash and serum were provided free of charge in exchange for an honest review. My super personal and not at all expert thoughts are obviously personal and not at all expert. Please don’t take anything I say about beauty products as advice. I certainly wouldn’t.
