I wasn’t going to post this, but then I thought: hey, I look cute, and also it’s a good summary of my year. My year in front of my laptop, anyway — which was a lot of my year, let’s not lie. And since that is my life, and this is my blog, I’m making this post. This post is a collection of selfies from the Photo Booth app on my MacBook, taken over the course of the year. They’re under a ‘read more’ because they’re not exactly good pictures, and they don’t meet my visual standards. They do, however, showcase my penchant for making stupid faces whenever a camera is around, and the way my year started in my room in Spain with my cat and suddenly took a turn in April, but stabilized somewhat by the end of December.

01-03: First day of the year / Pretty new earrings / Exhausted (My sister kept that hoodie. I miss that hoodie.)

07-09: Kitty / New glasses / Bad night
10-12: New tablet / Kitty / A better night
Ciudad Real, Spain
March – April
Cat times 8, from March up to the very last day I ever touched him, stroked his fur, bopped his nose, slept with him on my legs, etc, i.e. April 28. God, I miss that asshole so much.
April – August
01-03: In the room I shared with Annemari at the Britannia Hampstead down the road from where I live now. Still intend to post about the hotel. And some other stuff. Early May. Lost my black glasses on the second day I was here.
04-06: All May: At Ashley’s flat in Marylebone / At Ashton’s house in Leicestershire (with a gray hair) / Back in London, at the Caffé Nero near Victoria Coach Station
07-09: May-June: Ladbroke Grove / Catsitting in Streatham / With my flatmate’s Virginia Woolf mug in Crouch End
10-12: June-July: Photography prints in Hampstead Heath / The beginning of my Starbucks habit / New phone!
August – December
01-03: August-September: Last week in Hampstead Heath / At my new regular Starbucks in Belsize Park
04-06: September-October: Last shot with long hair / Haircut! In my room / Haircut at Starbucks
07-09: November: At a weird Starbucks off Regent Street in November / After Nadine‘s Christmas party / Letting my mom know I still lived
10-12: December: Switched glasses / Two shots in my room
In short: I went from spending all my life in my room to spending all my life between my room and Starbucks, which I’m not sure is an improvement, especially when you take into account the fact that I left my cat behind. I basically wear six outfits on rotation these days. Spring was much more eventful than the rest of the year — although I’d argue that so was summer, with all the shooting and modeling and whatnot, but those are camera pictures, not Photo Booth ones. I didn’t have a desk for the better part of four months, and now I do. I barely did any proper work for four months, and it took until December to get into any sort of routine and stop being overwhelmed. I’m overwhelmed again this week, but fighting to get back in the good habit I built in December. I also spotted my gray hair again yesterday.
And that was 2014, or at least the portion of it I spent behind a laptop.
